Returning Client Quick-Resubmit Feature
- As a client submits her TRF waiver for their first session, the app needs about five minutes of her time. Her artist finishes the waiver and sends it to the cloud.
- For each subsequent session on the same tattoo, most or all of the information on her waiver, and often the artist's notes, does not change. Only the date changes. Otherwise, it's the same tattoo, so almost-same waiver. Using the RETURNING CLIENT feature, a new iteration of the waiver will be placed on the cloud with the latest date.
- If nothing needs to be changed, the client signs and uploads in less than 10 seconds. Boom.
- Each Returning Client waiver uploaded to your cloud counts as one form spent, easily tracked on the subscriptions page.
- Please read our suggestions for using this feature below.
- Waivers made by previous versions of TRF (pre-v3.0) cannot be accessed by TRF v3.0+. This is a standard security practice among cloud services, reducing the chance of data breaches by malware between versions. Your pre-TRF v3.0 waivers are safe in your cloud and can be found there forever. Your clients should have no problem submitting a fresh 'first time' waiver, just this once, as they will be using the Returning Client feature evermore.

The Returning Client Experience
Sally Blades used TRF for the waiver she submitted on day one of her full-sleeve tattoo. That day, TRF asked for five minutes of her time, a photo of her ID, and the whole bit. Her artist finished the waiver and sent it to the cloud.
Two weeks later, Sally returned for her second session. She stepped up to the studio iPad, and the front desk clerk tapped RETURNING CLIENT. The clerk entered the required passcode (to be sure Sally was searching for Sally, not her ex) and searched for Sally.
TRF searched the connected cloud and offered Sally her first waiver. She selected it, read the how-to popup, signed her name, and uploaded the waiver. Ten seconds later, she was done.
Suggestions for the best use of the Returning Client Feature
- Don't use this feature when starting a new tattoo. By law, since the artwork and body parts are changing, a new waiver must be submitted to cover the artist or studio for that new tattoo. Resubmitting a previous waiver would not cover the new procedure.
- We suggest the artist carefully examine the previously submitted waiver in the RETURNING CLIENT WAIVER VIEWER, paying attention to client health indications.
FAQs: Returning Client Flow
-
Q: What is the Returning Client Flow?
A: The Returning Client Flow is a fast-track process for clients who return for sessions on the same tattoo. It significantly reduces the time required for waiver submission, which thrills those clients and makes them love you all the more.
-
Q: How much time does the Returning Client feature save?
A: While the initial waiver submission can take about five minutes, subsequent submissions using the Returning Client Flow can take less than 10 seconds if no changes are needed.
-
Q: Can my clients who used TRF before the update to v.30 find their old waivers?
A: No. That's a security door we welded shut. Waivers made by previous versions of TRF (pre-v3.0) cannot be accessed by TRF v3.0+.

Q: Who should ideally manage the Returning Client process?
A: Based on our experience with TRF in our studio, we recommend that studio staff manage the Returning Client process. The ability to search is pass-coded, which ensures client privacy and prevents clients from 'accidentally' accessing other clients' waivers.
-
Q: When should I not use the Returning Client feature?
A: The Returning Client feature should not be used when a client is getting a new tattoo. Because the artwork and tattoo placement change, a new waiver is legally required for each new tattoo. Resubmitting a previous waiver will not cover the new procedure.
